Based in a popular neighborhood in Seattle, Bell’s Cookie Co. bakes Washington state’s No. 1 cookies. Their unique, homemade recipes take your favorite nostalgic flavors and enhance them with the highest quality ingredients and a lot of love. Bell’s cookies are perfectly balanced – crisp on the outside and the chewy, soft, and gooey inside – and customers have been overheard calling them “addicting.”
Owners Tomas and Brooke Perez first met in Bogota, Colombia in 2014. Brooke had just received a Bachelor of Arts degree in culinary arts management and farm-to-table studies from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. She moved to Bogota and was working as a culinary consultant when she met Tomas. Over the next few years, both their relationship and passion for offering twists on nostalgic-inspired culinary delights grew. Together they opened a bakery/café in Colombia before returning to the U.S. and starting a successful catering business, Table Catering Co., in 2017.
When the pandemic arrived in 2020, the catering business was halted, but the duo’s delicious cookies were still being requested by their customers. Brooke and Tomas had already discussed the idea of a separate cookie company, but the idea was kicked into high gear by a large order from a close friend to be shipped to friends and family to raise spirits during the pandemic. Brooke and Tomas knew their cookies would bring a smile to people’s faces, near and far, during those hard times. Between Brooke’s culinary background and Tomas’ passion for making new ideas come to life, Bell’s officially began in 2020, with their retail operation following in summer 2021. The business is named after their young daughter Isabella, “Bell,” whose smile is as sweet as the cookies her parents create.
In October 2021, Bell’s cookies took to the skies with when Delta Airlines started offering freshly baked, decadent chocolate chunk and Maldon sea salt cookies to first-class customers on select flights nationwide. The cookies were a hit and now Delta passengers receive a Bell’s cookie on most Delta domestic flights. To meet this demand, the small business increased their cookie production from 30,000 a month to more than 500,000 a month.
Today, Bell’s offers 12 amazing cookie flavors to choose from as well as the ability to create a special cookie for any family, corporate celebrations, and other events. Brooke and Tomas spread joy through their cookies with pickup at their storefront, delivery throughout Seattle and nationwide shipping.
